It could take up to a year to get that security buy in across the company. Some teams would be more amenable, even within your engineering team. It's easy to get a great man, a good jump start in light if you're able to piggy bank or strike while the iron is hot. If someone's working on new feature and a brand new product, that's an easy way for security to come in.
