A lack of a tachycardic response to acute blood loss can lull the provider into a massive false sense of security. In 1998, there's a retrospective cohort study 750 patients with a systolic blood pressure of equal or less than 90 millimeters of mercury and 29% of those had a relative bradicardia. That's backed up by a study 2009, 7000 patients that were hypotensive after penetrating trauma and relative bradicards was observed in 44%. So this is definitely a thing.
