We've created these powers, but we're not mature enough to handle them. I would imagine that one of our hunter gather ancestors would have had to have been relatively self sufficient. Their parented in a connected way, so that all the tribe were parents to all the kids. Now in our society it's become very disconnected. Parents parent in isolation. Thei parent in a nuclear family home, if the parents are even to together. Most parents don't even see most of their kids most of the day. Uely unnatural when it comes to ananimal development, or human development, historic or evolutionally speaking.
