Introduction

Jack Deereder is a French philosopher. He was born into an Algerian Jewish family and moved to France in 1949 when he was 19. Over the next two decades he began to develop a new approach to philosophy, deconstruction. His best-known book, On Gramatology, was published in 1967. Robert Smith discusses a theme from another of his works, On Cosmopolitanism and Forgiveness.
