PKI is a term used to define the totality of everything that goes into managing digital certificates and renewing them. Digital certificates are like the bedrock of HTTPS. So in this sense, you've interfaced with PKI. It's one of the ways that I guess we could interface with PKI if I'm understanding correctly. One of the main principles of software development is to maintain dev-prod parity.
