I'm deeply suspicious of not so much Mikhail Bakhtin, but some Bakhtinians who think that social order is stiff rules and then you have this liberating carnival. Kristallnacht was also one big carnival. And even I read some new analysis now which claim that Bakhtin developed his carnival theory in the 30s with clear reference to Stalinist trials as quite a big social, a black carnival. So, you know, I don't think that carnival, that it's, I deeply distrust, here I'm a Bakhtian conservative. I deeply distrust this idea, You know, carnival, the world is around, moral rules are suspended
