In your book, you say that it was the crash of 19 29 that basically led to the abandonment of gold standard fight. The actions by the federal government during the thirties convinced everybody in america that they never would need gold again for their day-to-day transactions. And so if you're stuck with them, they can rugbo, basically. Ye theytakan leverage without anybody stopping them. They had to abandon the gold standard and admit that wo the first layer of our system is gone,. There's nothing you can do about it.
