Aesthetic Freedom Is Not the Absence of Passions, Not Stoic Apathy
Aesthetic freedom means that our emotional life acquires its greatest strength. The passions themselves are relieved of their material burden. We transform our passions into a free and active state. That sounds very much like the Nietzschean position, right? So we can turn all of this distancing and disinterest into a form of willing.
