Grapes and the Grape Lines
A healthy vine needs to send its roots as deep as possible. So we have a deep red soil with decomposed granite below, which is very good for red varietals. And you need to get the roots down as far as possible because all the nutrients are down there. When it's these very dry summers that we can get and hot summers, there's enough moisture for the roots to bring up from deep down.
