In the ministry, there's not much of a ladder to climb. If you're a senior pastor or lead pastor, where is there to go up from there? There's something natural within men in particular to have ambition and we want to climb a ladder. And I think that spirit characterizes the evangelical subculture. But all too often it is a selfish ambition that is underneath it.
