The Rism of the Metaphor Am
The mangrove is a botanical metaphor, i should say, of the mangrove am. It grows in this risomatic way, right? Its root growth is across and zigzagging, and it spreads wide instead of deep. The brine and the salt of the swamp are at odds with each other. And so the zigzag, rise and roots of the mangrobe can be used to make these liminal practices of freedom that make life happen.
