The state's attorney general wrote a legal opinion about trans gender children and the medical care that some of them receive. Governor gregg abbott directed the texas department of family and protective services to investigate parents of trans kids who are getting what's known as gender affirming care. Several parents have been visited by child protective services and have been questioned, according to those parents. It's unclear at this time whether there's been any further action.
