Deep learning can be used to create artificial videos that look and sound entirely genuine. The tools for that are open source and widely available. It's the compression of time, the imprecision of the recommendations and their destabilizing. I led an AI commission which made a recommendation that we ask China and Russia to foreswear automatic launch of nuclear weapons.
