There's no reason to suppose that the typical notsy wor criminal could not also have been a true friend and loving companion to some in so far as is true, then those individuals were not evil. Ordinarily, we might see no difficulty in totally condemning such a mobster. But the show, which focuses on his home life, reveals too much of a complex character to permit us that comfort.
