In first corinthians 12, verse 28, he says, god is appointed in the church. But from the bible alone, on what basis can we determine which of those appointments are offices? He doesn't say what a bishop or elders or deacons do. And so it doesn't work to use the protestant lens of assuming that tis is a constitution creating the church,. Because it isn't, and doesn't work that way.
