Is It a Long-Term Change to the Brain That Can't Be Resolved?

Chris: Is it a long-term change to the brain that can't be resolved when someone comes off something, anything like that that impacts negatively on brain metabolism or do we know whether the changes in the brain then actually persist in the long term? Chris: There isn't a clear black and white answer, unfortunately. We have some evidence that while the brain is developing in particular, people are especially vulnerable. However, there is this whole other field called neuroplasticity where the brain can heal itself, the brain can adapt, we can restore brain functions even when they've been lost. So simply stopping marijuana will stop the damage, but it won't in and of itself restore health.
