Is There a Proper Voting System?
If we had a proportionate voting system I honestly think we would get far better quality people wanting to run. A lot of the reason why people don't go into politics now good people is because it is seen as such a grubby profession. Being an MP might not really be that attractive a proposition for people who are actually qualified to be MPs. You probably have to give up work for a minimum of six months probably a year before polling day and you have to knock on doors pretty much every day. The vast majority of people who don't have wealth cannot salute that they simply cannot do that particularly all those just caring responsibilities parents etc.
