Is the Oasis a Big Corporate Monster?

The Oasis is a virtual reality landscape called the Oasis. It originally started as a big collection of virtual planets that people could go to and they could get cool avatars, spaceships. There's this giant corporate monster that has tried to get control of the Oasis a couple times but just can't through normal business or legal means. The person who finally figures it out is our protagonist is real name was Wade his internet avatar name is Parzaval but we're just going to call him Wade because Parzavals is a stupid name.
