Bringing Up Baby

Hidden Brain

CHAPTER

B O Guest, Beo Guest, Put Our Service to the Test

Babies who felt that they were bouncing in sink with a dance partner were more likely to help their partner pick up an object when it was out of reach. Laura measured how many babies would pick up and hand back the objects, and looked at whether the babies we bounced in sink with helped at a different rate than the ones we bounced out of sink with. So they would help on over half trials if we moved and sink with them,. whereas if we moved out of sink  with them, they would have help on less than a third of the trials.
