The Instabilities of the Antarctic Ice Sheet

Previous analyses of the ice sheet have not looked at the whole of Antarctica. The idea behind this so-called marine ice sheet instability is that really a lot of the Antarctic ice sheet is lying on bedrock that's below sea level. And people have been worried that that could lead to the west Antarctic ice sheet collapsing as we think it's down in the distant past.
