Type 1 Diabetes in Adults

Type 1 diabetes is more commonly seen in younger patients. If the clinical suspicion is high enough, I would definitely recommend checking for antibodies and treating someone who's an adult with type 1 diabetes. Late onset diabetes of adulthood or LADA basically is autoimmune destruction of the pancreas. It's type 1 diabetes, but it presents in adulthood.
