The Problem With Period Poverty in the United States
Any student that is eligible for free or reduced price lunch in the public school system is potentially at risk for period poverty. It's definitely made worse in more rural places and certainly there has been systemic discrimination against indigenous peoples in this country. And if you don't have a good internet connection, you know, if your family only gets paid once a month and need to go into town, into the closest town to buy the supplies for the month - money doesn't go as far as it needs to go to cover supplies.
