The Economic Impact of the Cherry Blossom Season on Japan
Katsuhiro Miyamoto is a professor emeritus at Kansai University. He has put out figures on how the cherry blossom season affects the Japanese economy. Just for Hanami season, he reported that it had a positive economic impact of around 200.6 billion yen. This year, they're predicting about a total of 2.3 million foreign tourists during Hanami season.
