Ted Chang came up with one. Did he though? I don't know. Because that's what we'll talk about is whether he did. But anyway, so this box lights up people. This is a predictor and it doesn't predict anything except it's an interesting kind of like libad experiment sort of analog in some ways. And there's just no way to fool it, it says. He frames this as a warning to the reader. The immediate problem is that the predictor demonstrates that there's no such thing as free will. So the full implications of the technology will become apparent later when negative delays of greater than a second to achieve.
