Ships have from the very first been some of the most oppressive, repressive, hiera cical and coercive environments. A ship that is as big as the empire state building laid on its side, only operating with 25 people. There are three categories of workers: officers who are in the wheel room,. Workers who work in the engine room, and then ther re te offde and then there are crew members that work in on deck. The work is extremely hard, tedious, em and the shifts that they have to work are incredibly long.
