Leonardo's Power of Observation
It's a very ancient idea, as leonardo knows. He goes back to classicl antiquity. Plato talks about it and in greek, anti but what leonardo does is to give it enormous visual cogency. Marina: This power of observation meant that he didn't just have a poetic and philosophical relationship with nature, but he could come up with much more scientific explanations of natural forces.
