Napoleon and the French Republic
Napoleon made his heroic entry into milan on may fifteenth, 17 96. He announces the creation of a jacobin style republic in lombardy. It will prove inspiration to the resogimento movement that will one day result in italian unification. The kind of nation building he is doing in italy is also a platform for his own power. They are forced into alliances. And those armies would be allied with french military and strategic policy.
