The Role of the Al-Hahaba'it in the Life of Peter
In Matthew 16, Jesus made Peter the al-haba'it. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. So it's not just this role of governing, it's a role of fathering. And we know that the successors of Peter have always been considered to be the al-abha'it. The Italian form of the word is 'papa,' which means father.
