What Does the Evidence Say About Ventilated Chest Seals?
Wound on the thorax that's of a reasonable size. A vented chest seal, but what does the evidence say? Well, there isn't actually a huge amount of primary literature and even less in humans. So whichever device you're using, the problem is here that the valve may become occluded by blood if you're not losing one of the laminov valves. If it does get blocked, there's a high chance of that turning into attention and therefore obvious badness for the patient. And we've covered these in shock and trauma. More detail about decompressing pneumothorices when you might be looking to positive pressure ventilate these patients.
