i often point out that in our advance modern, so called civilization, the relentless pursuit of short term money on money return seems to be the engine that just drives everything. The trick is in figuring out which is which. And there will be many, many errors made in deciding which should be kept and which should be thrown out. i talk about this all the time, that we are caught in local hill climbing. It's good in certain ways, but it's probably catastrophic when used at the level that we use it to day.
