How to Prepare a Sermon

I don't think my approach to sermon prep has changed over the last 25 years. I'm probably less academic now than I was when I started, but I was just coming out of a PhD program. It grows all their understanding of the scripture and understanding of what is to prepare a sermon. What role does prayer play? Is you're preparing a sermon? Very important.
