The same thing that gets somebody to stop the scroll is also going to get them to open your email. I'm okay with a cold email that doesn't really act like it knows me, but tells me something of value they can give me. But there's so many bad ways that this is done. You're just finding a recent episode, putting it in the first line, and that's your personalization.
