Is God's First Born?

There's a lot of talk in this entire story about first born. But the problem with that is that israelis not god's first born. Would it really take you ten plagues to rescue the israelites out of egypt? It seems rather inefficient. Why is moses asking for three days when he's supposed to be asking for all up time? Is this like some sick game that he's playing? Like, what's going on here?"
