Is There a Difference Between Communism and the USSR?
Income inequality has skyrocketed in the past 20 or 30 years. I think that actually finding ways to even out and redistribute some from the sort of rich to the poor is probably a more sustainable way to do it than trying to do it under an authoritarian framework. The USSR after broke up, it results in sort of a new sort of dominant class of oligarchs. It's not clear that there was anything materially better.
