The Different Regions of the Somatosensory Cortex
The somatosensory cortex is the part of the brain that processes tactile information. The more sensory neurons you have in a particular area of your body, the larger the area dedicated to that part of the body will be topographically for sensation. People who lose their arm can get something called phantom limb pain or phantom syndrome.
