What Do You Like About the Westerns of the 19th Century?
These narratives that were very richly mythic, dealing with good and evil. They're kind of existential. Usually they'll deal with somebody needing to decide what they think is right or wrong. I think in the 19 fifties, it was really fascinating, because while there were some nastalgic sterns, especially like rio bravo. There were also ones that were dealing with the aftermath of world orto and joseph mc carthy and the black list.
