Zionist Organization in Palestin

The british were trying to get the zionist group in palestine under control. They suggested that they should hand over power to a civilian government. It may have just been a clever way for weitman to get the british to do this. But it seems like if only the britishes had taken a moment, or listened to somebody who was taking a moment to imagine how all this must have looked from the perspective of the arabs, they might have saved themselves a lot of pain.
