What I Had in My Background Was a Little Free School in New York City
In college, he worked with kids in basketball and other activities. His brother dropped out of school very early on; his mother started a free school for him. "I grew up with that. I observed them in these capacities," says the author. He doesn't push college but wouldn't want it to not be an option for students.
