The UX Is Just So Much Nicer
The only implementation I know of is in Samurai Walnut. It's called Painems, which solves a similar goal but is on chain rather than lightning. Once you get past the channel balance hurdle, and especially for payments, all you need is one or two channels to routing nodes. And that's it. You don't have any channel management besides that. The UX is just so much better, like, we get stuck in our bubble,. Even simple concepts like confirmation time to us is a very, it's a very hard concept for new corners to wrap their head around.
