The Importance of Technical Language in Public Policy

Every public policy discipline has a lexicon. And you have to be a subject matter expert to know what the lexicon is. So there are many firms out there who spend a lot of time training their models doing what I'm sorry to say it feels a bit like dumpster diving because they will source their language from all sorts of places. They're just desperate to find any words at all. One of the reasons why our process is patented and very effective is that we create training data, we don't, we're not looking for it, we create it because we know the technical language that policymakers use.
