The Interstellar Medium
The solar wind blows off from the sun in all directions, essentially flowing radially away from the sun. Eventually that will interact with the interstellar medium. The sun is actually traveling through the interstellar medium at a number that we know remarkably precisely, about 25 kilometers a second. So you can think of the sun blowing a bubble and then that bubble itself plowing through the interstellarmedium.
