The Importance of Finding Provoking Factors in Clotting
The easiest capture in that scenario is someone who has cancer, right? They're newly diagnosed with cancer. You do not need to know whether or not they had an inherited thrombophilia because they have enough provoking factors. So yes, people who appear to have unprovoked events, you don't know whether the risk is still present. And so when we talk about indefinite duration, anticoagulation, we're looking at also for modifiable risk factors in some of these patients.
