The structure of the conference was completely different from what birth workers had ever seen before. Women were asked immediately to wear badges, you know, to virtue signal their inclusivity and to signal their pronouns or all of these things. A woman by the name of J.V. Ana Lewis who has agreed to the interview with me again, which I'm excited to see how she's doing at this point. But at the time, she was a brand new midwife, a student midwife.
