The Ethical Importance of Community Engagement in the Face of the Pandemic
The pandemic forced me to do an about face of sorts and realize I needed to find a way to effectively integrate. One of the most important epidemic interventions is decarceration. We have such high rates of incarceration that has produced dramatic reductions in the spread of COVID. It's not just about structural violence as determinative of everybody's life, but how do we collectively produce an effective response to it? This is also an aesthetic response. What politics for me is this idea that you cannot have an effective politics if it's devoid of mass feeling.
