How to Love a Guy

I'm in a long distance relationship with a guy who I've been with for about five months and about a year sleeping together on slash off before that. He's the most chilled out, lovely guy, super independent, and fun. The only issue is he doesn't often say that he misses me or cares for me. My love language is quite physical and verbal, so I struggle a bit with long distance. And honestly, I just want to hear that he misses and cares for me but I'm just asking for something that isn't going to happen.
