The Myth of the Geckos
Demeter came to a town where she was offered a cup of water. She drank clumsily and spilled a bunch of water all over herself. A young man named Ascalibis made fun of her, so Demeter turned him into a blank. From there, from this myth, it was tradition with Greek people to kill geckos. If you kill them, get goes wherever you saw them, you were gaining the favor of Demeter.
