HP Instant Ink Cancels Your Direct Debit

Hewlett-Packard instant ink is an excellent service, which it is. But unless I am a active subscriber to that service, I cannot use that printer anymore. One customer suddenly their printer stopped working knowing full well they had full ink cartridges. They couldn't work out what was going on so googled and spoke to someone on the HP hotline who took control of their PC then fleece their bank account because it wasn't HP the cold.
