The Importance of Asking Different Questions of the Archives
It's not the archive itself that's an issue. It's how we approach the archive, as you show in your book. We can only tell new stories if we begin with different questions. So when it comes to asking different questions of the archive, is this the process best achieved by having different kinds of people in charge? Or do white historians need to challenge their own biases to start asking those different questions or both?
