The film was released in 2006, a decade before the idea that all pretty much all the people we see on screen are white. I think it makes sense because it's a colonial gesture, an idea, an assumption that like power happens under the skies of whiteness and masculinity. The movie has also made a full 10 years before anyone in Hollywood was considering the idea that this needed to be rectified. There have always been people who have spoken out about it, but it didn't become a mainstream idea in Hollywood until recently.
