The Impact of Sacrifice on Spiritual Growth

But your children will be the better for it. You think that they're missing out, but I can promise you as a parent whose kids didn't get to play Little League, they are not missing out. This is a precious thing to pour into them.

And I want you to use your thought because I want to just tell one quick thing. I have three adult children, pretty rare, but all three of them walk with Jesus. We asked them this summer. We were eating dinner together. what was it, if you could pinpoint one thing, that attributed do you walk with Jesus as an adult? And all three of them said the same thing in their top two, and that was we went on mission trips together every year, and God gave them a heart for the nations that they came home and applied at home.

Yes, I am telling you parents, your kids will be more blessed as you come alongside them and pour out together rather than to pouring into your kids in a child-centric way. And that's true for the church pastors. Put the pastor in the role of the parent there. Your people will grow up to be more mature and love Jesus more if you don't focus on your people, but you ask your people to go and to sacrifice. Because it's in the Bible and this is how God made us. So it's shocking we thrive when we do what he asks us to do. Just one other thing that we do as a church that I think might be beneficial and just really practical is we do have small groups at our church and we ask our small groups to serve together once a month. So's great. So you take your dinner instead, and you go somewhere. You go to the nursing home, you go to the ministry that's serving houseless people, you go wherever, but once a month, you go out and go serve. And that's one way to build it in. That's an easy way. huge. It subtly teaches, hey, look, we're a church, and we're gonna be on church on mission for the glory of God. Thank y'all so much for being a part of this today.
